The BDSM community is large and heterogeneous: many people who talk, meet, flirt, hate and criticize each other in networks. At first this picture may give the impression of homogeneity. Nothing could be further from the truth; the BDSM scene is made up of very diverse people. Not everyone has the same reasons for getting into it, nor do they attach importance to the same things. Therefore, taking advantage of the beginning of the course, we are going to talk about a light topic: types of people in the BDSM environment. There are many types of BDSMero, so we have only selected seven… and, yes, we do not promise that we will take it seriously.
1. Toys

Some collect stamps… and others BDSM toys :)
When we were little creatures, and unless we lived in a family of money, the Three Wise Men never brought us everything we wanted. Something was always missing. Most of us got over it as we grew up, but there are those who could not. This is the person who always wants to have every BDSM toy there is. The toy doesn’t settle for just a pair of floggers and a riding crop, he wants to have everything: ropes of five different materials, an iron cage that he ordered from the last blacksmith in the province, a rare device that he picked up on sale in an antique shop and that he doesn’t even know how to use… everything.
The good thing is that, apart from having lots of toys and keeping them well cared for, he is usually a generous person when it comes to allowing you to play with them.
2. The fetishist

Objective: to attract attention.
What fetish people really like is to go like a brush. A cool outfit (always made of leather or latex, of course), a well equipped dungeon, and off they go. For these people, BDSM play is secondary, and the premises are nothing more than the stage where they display all their fetishist plumage. Something that is of course very respectable, but which usually leads to big discussions when theymeet the next type of BDSMer on our list.
3. The sadosaurus

Any time in the past was better!
Everything was better before; the sadosaurus knows it even if he himself is twenty years old. In the early days of BDSM everyone took it seriously, submissives knew their place, respect and protocol were the norm and tomatoes tasted like tomatoes. Now things have degraded a lot, but before? ah, it used to be cool!
The problem with sadosaurians is not that they have their own way of doing BDSM (something very respectable) nor that they feel nostalgia. Nor is it the endless turras they give on the subject. The point is that they tend to

Did you know that some people create zappers with mosquito-proof shovels? It may not be the safest thing in the world, but it’s ingenious!
4. The bricolage
Everywhere there are people skilled with their hands: “bricosado” is one of them. But no, before you ask us for his phone number, we have to warn you that the manual skills of this type of BDSMero are only embodied in the manufacture of sex toys. He makes whips with the most diverse materials, carves wood to turn it into paddles and sometimes even sets up workshops of his own. When he becomes very skilled, he moves up a level and begins to make a living from the sale of the material he manufactures.
5. Discussions

The pleasure is in the debate, not in the conclusion!
This type of BDSMero likes to discuss. He won’t tell you like that, of course: he will tell you that what he wants is to learn and contrast points of view, that the debate is very enriching, that if so and so is so and so. All lies. What he likes is to fight. They are the kind of people who always talk politics with friends, or who reply on Facebook with three paragraph comments to prove you wrong. In the BDSM world he has a thousand topics: what is BDSM, what practices does it include, what is true surrender, if this or that technique is appropriate… and so on ad infinitum. If you share social networks with a debater, we recommend that you mute them. They are not bad people, but they can be very annoying.
6. The information center

Don’t you know… it turns out that so-and-so, at the party of so-and-so…
The BDSM community is a network. Each member knows others, gets along with some and hates others. And then there are the information centers. The information centers seem to be connected to the whole network. Mind you, that doesn’t mean that they are friends with everyone, or even that they are open and outgoing people: no, they are simply very well informed. They know when every party is, they have an idea of who has hooked up with whom, they are informed about the economic status of each venue, they have witnessed all the discussions on social networks… they are a great source of gossip. If you are not this kind of person, make friends with one right away.
How many types of BDSMers do you know? Do you feel represented by any of them?
